Are you wanting to take your child's game to the next level? Are you looking for him/her to learn the foot-skills of the Pros? Well, the SYSA would like to introduce our children to the world of Futsal by offering a training academy by one of the most renowned Futsal Coaches in America, Bill Sampaio. Bill runs the New England Futsal Academy and trains some of the best kids in our Region. Our scheduled dates for training will take place on January 12 (Optional),19,26/ February 2,9,16,23 and March 8,15,22 at the Tri-Town Community Action Gym, located at 33 Maple Ave, North Providence, RI. Congrats to our First Session teams!! 
Congrats to all of our teams that played in the Playoffs up at WWIS this past weekend. We are all very proud of you. A few notables were our U9B East Girls team with Coach Walsh took home First Place. Our U10B West team with Coach Beaumier took home First place. On the boys side, Coach Capalbo and his U10B Boys team also took home the First place trophy!! Way to go!! The rest of our teams finished very strong losing either in the Finals or Playoffs of their respective divisions. Good luck to all our teams next Session. Congrats to our U7 Girls team coached by Anthony Bettencourt, Jason Capalbo and Mike Cost for their Runner Up finish in the Holiday Tourney up at Wide World of Indoor Sports. It was a great run. Needing a big win to make the Finals, the girls defeated Five Star Soccer 1-0 and win the tie breaker!! In the Finals, they lost 1-0 to Ocean State Soccer, but played their hearts out!! You made us all proud!!  U8 A Girls Competitive Wins WWIS Thanksgiving Tourney!
Congratulations to our U8 A Division Girls Strikers team for winning the Wide World of Indoor Sports Annual Thanksgiving Tourney! They won in OT via a shootout. Way to go Girls and Coach John and Mario!  Smithfield Mens Soccer team captures second consecutive Division II title

Kohl's American Cup results --UPDATED 11/7/11  The Kohl's American Cup Tourney was held this weekend in Coventry, RI and the SYSA sent 6 teams to compete. We have most of the results and are still waiting for some. We will update when we have them all. But here is what we have so far... Our U10 Girls, Team Jamaica, went undefeated winning 5-1 in Game One (Coventry) and 3-1 (Coventry) in Game Two to finish the Tourney at 2-0!! Nice Job girls! In other action at the Kohl's Cup, the U10 Boys Team Portugal finished 2-0 as well with a 7-0 drubbing of Chariho and a 2-1 win over Coventry!! Team Germany of the U12 Boys won their first game and lost their second game 9-5 to Warwick. Great work boys! Our U12 Girls, Team England, was defeated 3-0 in their game. Nice try girls! The U15 Girls, Team Ireland, lost in the first game on Saturday 5-3 to Coventry :( Great job girls! The U15 Boys, Team Ireland, beat Chariho 1-0 in the QuarterFinals and then lost to Warwick in the Semis 3-0. Great showing boys!!   Smithfield Cup Winners by Division!!! On behalf of the SYSA Golf Scholarship Committee we would like to thank all of the golfers, Tee sponsors and raffle donations that contributed to a great day of golf and fun. We would also like to thank the volunteers on the course, Anthony Bettencourt, Brandy Narducci and Don Falcone for keeping everyone hydrated....
It was another successful year raising funds for graduating seniors. A special thanks to Mark Graham and Brandy Narducci for helping put the tournament together!!
