SYSA General Meeting Notes

January 9, 2007

 

v     Banquet duties assigned – Toni Jenkins & Patty Kelly-Flis will check-in guests, Jaki Flynn will run the raffle.  Raffle will be $1 per ticket, $5 for 10 tickets for various donated gifts.  50/50 raffle is $5 per ticket.

v     There will be no SYSA General Meetings in February, April and June but there will be a board meeting only in February to touch base on spring soccer – location to be announced.

v     Discussions regarding net rentals for use of SYSA equipment by non-SYSA membership related soccer activities – discussion to continue.

v     Board member elections were held and obtained as follows:

Ø      President – Adel Cabral

Ø      VP Recreation – David Gremza

Ø      VP Competitive – Bob Moretti

Ø      Treasurer – Dan Rubiano

Ø      Secretary – David Jenkins

Ø      Registrar – Mike Cummings

Ø      Membership Secretary – Patti Flis

Ø      Directors of Coaching – Bob Squillante & Bill Hickey (appointed)

v     Discussed location changes for some of the fields for the spring soccer season – discussion to continue.

v     TJ Tully needs to notify SYSA when he hands out permits to use SYSA soccer equipment so that the fee rental (to be determined) and availability can be verified.

v     Sponsor plaques will be handed out on Friday to those that participated – many thanks to those who sponsored teams this past season.

v     Appointed positions were ironed out including concession stand coordinator (Jacque Kapanikas), and it was decided to obtain a large volunteer base to help out.  A complete list of all appointees will be compiled and submitted by Adel Cabral to the Board.

v     Coaching training will play an important role this year noting that there will be an upcoming goalie clinic as well as a coaching clinic at Mohegan Sun forthcoming.  Visit www.soccer-ri.com for further details.

v     Next General Meeting will take place on Tuesday March 13th, 2007 @ 7:30 at the Smithfield Senior Center.
